A. English Language Lab.

A Digital Language Lab is a computer-assisted language learning system which allows students to learn language skills such as communicative English, phonetics, grammar, writing, listening and other language skills in an interactive and networked computer system. This is considered a positive learning system as it helps students adjust themselves without any pressure and also learn through stimulating multimedia content and hands-on interactivity.  Language labs provide practice in an entertaining and interactive way to acquire the 4 main language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students learn more comprehensively through a language lab, using more class time instead to achieve these three main objectives:

  • Self-learning: The student progresses in a self-guided but structured and progressive training to achieve the goals and objective set by the school or educational body.
  • Complimentary: Language labs allow students to reinforce material learned in class by putting them into practice through interactive activities.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Teachers know the progress of each student and receive reports of strengths and weaknesses to better adapt the classroom activities. Buldana Cambridge School have launched the effective English learning method through English language lab.

Following English language and communication skills related laboratory sessions are conducted here:

  • Grammar of English Language: Practice and Exercises
  • Vocabulary Building Skills
  • Active Listening Skills
  • Introduction to Phonetic Sounds
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Business Letter Writing
  • Oral Presentations (Self Introduction, Extempore, Public Speech, Formal Presentation, Use of AV Aids, etc.)
  • Group Discussion (Unstructured & Structured )
  • Preparation of & Appearing for the Interview
  • Situational Conversations
  • Understanding Importance of Body Language

The objectives of our lab is as follow

  • Understand Communication.
  • Be aware of the importance of speaking in globally- accepted English.
  • Correct pronunciation of consonant sounds and vowel sounds.
  • Syllables, stress and modulation
  • Intonation and variation
  • Reduce mother tongue influence in speech.
  • Use correct grammar.

By developing all these skills we are making a child an expert in English Language.

B. Science Lab

Science is different from any other subject that a student takes up in school. This discipline unlike other courses affects the lives of each and every person in several ways. From the local weather to the food we eat, and from the simple electronic devices that we use in our day to day lives to the complex machines and systems, science is everywhere. Science involves seeing, handling, understanding and manipulating of real objects and materials.

Teaching science therefore requires a different approach. Schools have to provide opportunities to their students to learn the various methods and processes. BCS is a place where basic experimental skills are learnt by systematically performing a set of prescribed and suitably designed experiments. Performing experiments by one's own hands is not only a thrilling experience but is also important because it entails learning by doing. Multi-purpose science labs that can support different disciplines are important. Biology, chemistry, physics – these subjects require different materials, facilities and teaching methods, and therefore have different requirements for a laboratory environment. From here students learn through different models, specimens, slides, and understands proper content, think, reflect in daily life and explore themselves they in 21st century .

C. Maths Lab

The mathematics laboratory is a place where anybody can experiment and explore patterns and ideas. It is a place where one can find a collection of games, puzzles, and other teaching and learning material. The maths lab. provides an opportunity for the students to discover mathematics through doing. The role of a teacher in a math lab is not to teach, but to facilitate inquiry in mathematics. This could either be done by posing probing questions, offering an extra resource or asking to discuss with peers.

Here are some ways in which a math lab can help students learn mathematics:

  • Context and opportunity to discover through doing. Through activities students learn to do through concrete activities thus laying down a firm foundation for more abstract thinking.
  • Offers more scope for individual participation. It encourages students to become independent learners and allows them to learn at their own pace.
  • It widens the experiential base and lays groundwork for later learning of new areas of mathematics and helps to make appropriate connections between the known and unknown in mathematics.
  • Rules and constraints play an important role in mathematical problems. By fearlessly engaging with puzzles and games they have an opportunity to alter the rules and constraints. Thus becoming aware of the role of rules and constraints in mathematics.
  • Math lab helps develop meta-cognitive abilities. As the student can rethink and rework the problem and solution several times without any interference from time constraints.
  • It builds up inherent interest and confidence in the student towards learning and doing mathematics.
  • Lastly it adds variety in all school mathematics learning

To enhance the mathematical operations and Calculations school established a perfect Maths lab.  providing a lot of mathematical equipments and tools with math kits.

D. Social Science Laboratory

Environment plays a great role in imparting education .The atmosphere of social studies laboratory will help the students on the subject more .So the special room will affect the child psychologically and inspire him/her to study the subject more attentively. In our school we have models, samples, sketches, maps, globes and several pictures related to History, Geography and Civics topics. If the teacher moves all this material from one place to other it causes much inconvenience and it may get damaged in the process. More over the laboratory is well ventilated and well lit.

We have models and samples of different types of rocks and minerals, solar system, globes, physical features of India, tectonic movements, volcanic eruption, the course of a river ,physical ,political and cultural maps of India and the World etc. In History we have projects and models on Mughal empire, Harappan civilization-clothes, artifacts, jewels etc.

E. Transport Facility

The school provides Bus facility on certain routes ; details in this regard can be obtained from the school office. The responsibility of bringing the child to the designated bus stop and receiving from there rests with the parents. Request for changes of approved bus stop/ bus routes are not entertained according to the students convenience. Change of address and telephone number are to be intimated to the school office/ Bus driver immediately.
